We wanted to highlight our sweet fur babies and give a nod or a “bark and purr” to some of the best feel good movies of the 80s and 90s that feature our sweet pets!
These 80s movies are “Hip to be Square” and listed in no particular order:
- All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989): We know all dogs go to heaven and we are so thankful for this animated classic reminding us of this!
- The Fox and The Hound (1981): The eternal friendship that shows that we can always go beyond our differences to the similarities we share at our core.
- The Adventures of Milo and Otis (1986): An unexpected friendship where even distance cannot keep them apart. This movie is hilarious and fun-loving–dog and cat combos are the BEST!
- K-9 (1989): Don’t know about you, but we appreciate the men and women in Blue and the dogs in fur that protect us! Great and funny movie, with a strong and heroic story of friendship!
- Oliver & Company (1988): Cats and Dogs making friends again! Love this story of a homeless kitty making good with a “gang” of dogs!
The 90s were amazing, and “as if” we couldn’t mention these pawesome movies:
- Air Bud (1997): Loyalty, fun, and sports….it is a dog’s life for Buddy the sweet golden retriever.
- Beethoven (1992): This movie still cracks me up to this day! Amazing how fur babies can help mend a broken family all while bringing laughter every second of the movie!
- Homeward Bound (1993): Seems a continuation of the Incredible Journey from many moons ago! All the animals in here, including Sassy the cat, were so fun and inspiring to watch! The journey was heartfelt and humorous with love and friendship abounding!
- 101 Dalmatians (1996): Great remake of the animated classic! These puppies do not disappoint! Let the chaos, cuteness and fun commence!
While we know there are TONS more heart-felt and inspiring stories involving our furiends, we just wanted to share a few of the classics with you that we treasure from the 80s and 90s! Tell us which ones we are missing??
