We know our pets love us unconditionally, and we can only hope to be as love-filled as our sweet pets. My best therapist is my doggie Prince, paws down! Most of his “therapy” for me is LOVE, so let’s shower some love on our fur babies!

National Love Your Pet Day:

Let’s be honest, we’re probably a bit over the top as it is when it comes to showing our fluff balls how much we care. Nevertheless, Love Your Pet Day is right around the corner (February 20th, mark those calendars!), so it’s time to start thinking about how we can kick it up a notch. Here are some great ways to make your pet feel pampered as you shower them with love:

1. Take them for a luxurious grooming

As pet owners, a trip to the groomer may seem a bit self-serving. However, rest assured that our fur babies are going to love it too. Just imagine how much cooler and lighter they’ll feel with their fluff trimmed and thinned, and the confidence they’ll gain from seeing their new look in the mirror will put some extra strut in their stride. If your groomer offers upgraded or premium treatment, now’s a great time to splurge!

2. Get them their new favorite toy

You’re probably already aware of how much time your adorable pet spends playing with their toys. It’s how they stay entertained when we’re out running errands or spending the day in the office. Sadly, there comes a time when every toy will lose its luster – the same happened to us when we were kids. Take the occasion to buy them something new and exciting, it doesn’t have to be too expensive. Cats, in particular, will love you for it.

3. Whip them up some homemade treats

Few things in this world feel more like home than a meal cooked from scratch in the kitchen. Why not share that wonderful feeling of comfort with your favorite four-legged friend? It’s an act of love that’s not all that difficult to pull off, even for those of us who are a bit less savvy when it comes to culinary escapades. The smell of the treats alone may just be enough to get your cat purring or get your dog’s tail wagging.

4. Treat them to a care package

Mix things up and surprise your furry friend with a care package with a selection of toys, treats, and other goodies.
